And I've already dropped it on its side. Oddly, I'm gonna say its not my fault.
I went to park it and was having trouble getting neutral so I rocked it back and forth a little bit. I found neutral, went to put my stand down and my seat came off. Having lost the majority of my connection with the bike and having the wheel angled expecting the kickstand I lost it. Watching your brand new (used) motorcycle fall really hurts. Not physically, although that could have felt better, but emotionally. Also, I forgot how much 450lbs weighs.

Could be worse, man. Try dropping someone ELSE's Ducati.

This is true, and this is why no one touches my bikes. Or cars for that matter.

I know those feels
Even though mine is hardly a Ducati, it still hurt a whole lot when I dropped it (twice, totally my fault) on my first day of ownership.

You park your bike in neutral?

I'm lazy and my parking spot is flat. Plus it keeps me from going full retard and starting the bike in first with the clutch out.

It can happen to anybody. In my near 40 years of riding, I have had brain freezes a couple times and paid the price. All you can do is chock it up to dumbness and make a log of it in your mind so it don't happen again. Be glad it did not happen on the road. Wish you many years of happy riding. Love Ducati's.

I dropped my first bike in front of the guy I was buying it from. I handed him the money, and had the pristine '97 Triumph sprint on the ground in like 10 seconds. I then had a 5 hour ride to get it home.
He called to check if I was alive shortly after I got it home in one piece.
